UK's First Dog Bus Offers Pawsome Adventures
23 Nov
Summary
- First dog bus service in the UK takes pets on day adventures.
- Service inspired by a need for better dog care than walkers.
- Bus offers community engagement by visiting nursing homes and schools.

A pioneering dog bus service has launched in the UK, offering unique day adventures for canine companions. Founder Laura Mohan was inspired to create the service after finding that one-hour dog walks were insufficient and full-day care was too much for her own dog, Billy.
Drawing inspiration from an American concept, the dog bus operates in parts of Bradford and Leeds, picking up "paw-sengers" for exciting outings. The service prioritizes the safety and comfort of the dogs, ensuring they are secured during the journey before reaching their destination for walks.
Beyond pet services, the venture is deeply community-focused. The bus makes "drive-bys" to nursing homes, schools, and nurseries, allowing everyone to interact with the dogs. Donations collected during these visits support a local dog charity, Aireworth Kennels, integrating community goodwill with animal welfare.
