On a recent night in November 2025, Alisa Green, an ICU nurse and mother of three in Columbus, Ohio, faced a terrifying situation when her 18-month-old son Maverick managed to escape his crib, unlock the front door, and venture outside in the middle of the night. The incident, which was captured on the family's Ring doorbell camera, unfolded as Green's firefighter husband Nate, who was working the night shift, received a notification about someone at the front door.
Nate quickly realized it was Maverick, who had somehow managed to navigate his way out of the house. Fortunately, the toddler's outdoor adventure was short-lived, as he came running back inside within 15 seconds, realizing it was "cold and dark" outside. Green, who had been woken by the blaring alarms, found a "panicked screaming toddler" in the living room with the front door wide open.
In the aftermath of the incident, the Greens decided to enhance their home security, adding slide locks to all exterior doors and window stoppers to prevent similar escapes in the future. Maverick, who has earned the nickname "Danger Baby," seems to have learned from his mistake, telling his mother "oh mommy that was naughty" the last time they watched the video together.
