Teen Philanthropist Aims to Warm 5,000 Kids

Cayden Jackson, a 15-year-old from Dacula, is spearheading an initiative to provide warmth to his peers this winter through his nonprofit, Loved and Protected. His ambitious goal is to collect 5,000 pieces of winter clothing, including hats, gloves, and coats, for children in need. Jackson has already collected a third of his target, distributing items to foster care children and students in local schools.

Jackson's commitment to philanthropy started at a young age, stemming from a profound personal experience. He explained that his life's mission is deeply rooted in his faith, drawing inspiration from Psalms 23, which he says signifies being "loved and protected." This belief fuels his drive to ensure children facing hardship do not have to worry about staying warm.

The collection effort involves community partnerships, with local businesses like Millie Habtemariam's salon serving as drop-off points for donations. Jackson aims to complete his collection by the third week of December, emphasizing the importance of comfort and security for children, especially those experiencing homelessness, so they can focus on their education.
