The Tata Sierra, a highly anticipated mid-size SUV, has seen over 30,000 deliveries, with many buyers still awaiting their vehicles. A recent ownership review of the base Smart Plus variant highlights its surprising value. The owner, previously driving a Hyundai Verna, chose the Sierra over the Hyundai Creta due to its SUV-like presence and spacious interior.
The base Smart Plus variant, priced at Rs 14.90 lakh on-road for the diesel model, is considered by its owner to be the most value-for-money option. It comes equipped with essential features such as all four power windows, parking sensors, a push-start button, rear AC vents, and LED lighting. The 1.5-litre diesel engine produces 116 bhp and 260 Nm of torque, paired with a 6-speed manual transmission.
Performance of the diesel engine is described as amazing, suitable for both city commutes and highway cruising, complemented by a comfortable suspension. While slightly less refined than a comparable Hyundai Creta diesel, it offers impressive fuel efficiency of 17 kmpl in the city and 20 kmpl on highways. The vehicle's build quality is noted as solid, providing a secure feel with ample cabin space for five occupants.
