K Anuradha Suresh, a retired senior AGM from Air India, explains that these items could pose a serious risk to fellow passengers if not handled properly. Dumbbells, for instance, are banned because their heavy weight could potentially cause injuries, and they could also be used as weapons to carry out unlawful interference. Similarly, skipping ropes are prohibited as they could be utilized as restraint devices or for choking.
