Staff at a restaurant in Stevenage are overjoyed after a significant 5ft penguin decoration, affectionately known as Percy, was returned following a theft. Percy was captured on CCTV being carried away by two individuals and loaded into a van, prompting distress among the restaurant team.
In response to the disappearance, the restaurant offered a generous £5,000 voucher reward for any information leading to Percy's recovery. This incentive proved effective when a member of the public contacted the restaurant after spotting the distinctive ornament situated in a garden.
Hertfordshire Police were then able to retrieve Percy and bring him back to his rightful place outside the Prezzo restaurant. The restaurant's marketing director conveyed deep thanks to the police for their assistance in this unusual case and expressed hope that Percy will now remain undisturbed.
