Summary
- Stella McCartney's clifftop home proposal in west Highlands recommended for approval.
- Amended plans address previous concerns about size, design, and environmental impact.
- The proposed home will be a sustainable family residence, not a holiday property.

Fashion designer Stella McCartney and her husband Alasdhair Willis are poised to gain planning permission for a proposed clifftop residence in Roshven, Scotland. The property, envisioned as a 'forever home' for their family, has been recommended for approval by Highland Council officers.
Initial proposals submitted in 2023 generated numerous objections concerning the development's size, aesthetic, and potential effects on the local landscape and wildlife. However, revised plans were subsequently introduced to address these concerns.
The couple's spokesperson expressed delight at the recommendation, emphasizing the home's sustainable design. It is slated to use natural Scottish stone with a turfed roof and will be largely concealed due to the natural contours of the site, aiming for greater landscape integration than a pre-existing 2000 permission.
This planned residence is distinct from many local properties, as it is intended to be a permanent family dwelling. The final decision on the plans will be made by the Highland Council's south planning applications committee.
