Dolls Give Comfort: 3,000 Kits Delivered!

Since 2012, Special DOLLivery has brought comfort to children by restoring and gifting American Girl dolls. Founded by Susan Robison, the volunteer-powered nonprofit has delivered more than 3,000 complete doll kits, each containing a restored 18-inch doll, multiple outfits, accessories, and a book. Robison, a former foster care advocate, was inspired by the sense of safety and belonging a doll can provide.

The organization's impactful work is sustained solely through donations and community involvement. Volunteers dedicate their time to collecting, cleaning, and restoring dolls, as well as assembling the detailed kits. Individuals and companies can contribute by donating supplies, shopping through a wish list, or participating in packing events. Susan Robison's dedication has also earned her local recognition, including a Governor's Spirit of Service honor in 2025.
