Sandringham Private Game Reserve, once a hunting ground, has undergone a remarkable transformation into a luxury safari lodge in South Africa's Greater Kruger region. Six years ago, the property presented a bleak image, with remnants of its past hunting activities evident. Significant land rehabilitation and rewilding efforts have since revitalized the nearly 5000 hectares of low veld bushland.
Today, guests can explore the thriving wilderness through sunrise and sunset safaris. These excursions offer opportunities to witness diverse wildlife, from lion kills to elephant families and endangered painted dogs. The lodge itself provides supreme comfort, overlooking the Timbavati River and its abundant birdlife and resident hippos.
Accommodation is spread across two camps, N'weti and Shisaka, featuring 12 suites and two villas. These offer unique safari experiences, including canvas tents with infinity pools and rooftop rooms for elevated wildlife viewing. The lodge is accessible via a short flight to Hoedspruit Airport, with connections to major South African cities.
