Frankly Farm Tours, located on the Willey Estate near Broseley in Shropshire, has seen a dramatic increase in visitor numbers since introducing four Highland cows in February. The farm, home to over 50 other animals, reports that visitor attendance has already surpassed the entirety of 2025.
Owners Natalie Franklin-Hackett and John, who started the farm four years ago, noted the public's fascination with Highland cows, often seen on merchandise. Visitors can now interact directly with these distinctive animals, known for their shaggy coats and horns.
The experience, which includes cuddling and brushing the cows, has been overwhelmingly popular, leading the farm to expand its sessions and acquire two more cows to meet demand. This increased income has funded the development of a gift shop and a new playground, with future plans for enhanced facilities.
Last year, the farm welcomed approximately 4,500 visitors. This year, the figure has already reached around 6,000, with aspirations to reach 10,000. The farm is also investing in toilet blocks, pathways, and its café to create a more comprehensive visitor destination.
