Actor Sanah Kapur recently shared a distressing account of a violent road rage incident that occurred late at night in Mumbai. An individual on a two-wheeler crashed into Kapur's car and proceeded to smash its windshield, leaving the actor deeply shaken by the unexpected aggression. Consultant Clinical Psychologist Munira Kapadia noted that such traumatic events can lead to severe psychological distress, including symptoms similar to post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD). Survivors may experience flashbacks, anxiety, and avoidance behaviors. Women, in particular, might face more profound impacts due to existing safety concerns while traveling, especially at night.

Kapadia explained that road rage is often a result of heightened stress levels from factors like traffic and noise, combined with the body's threat response. The adrenaline surge can impair rational thinking, leading to aggressive reactions. To de-escalate, prioritizing safety and calming techniques like deep breathing are recommended. Avoiding confrontation and seeking support afterward can also help manage the emotional aftermath.
