During this time, devotees of Lord Ayyappa will flock to the temple, symbolizing the essence of faith, discipline, and divine blessings. The devotees must adhere to a set of rules and practices, including acquiring diksha from a qualified guru, as they embark on this spiritual journey.
Alongside the Mandala Puja at Sabarimala, the Guruvayur temple will also host regular and extraordinary rites, with the goddess being bathed in panchagavya, a concoction of five cow products believed to have purifying properties. The temple will maintain a festive atmosphere throughout this period, catering to the influx of pilgrims.
