In a recent conversation, actress Rubina Dilaik opened up about her family's approach to parenting and leading a simple, healthy lifestyle. Rubina, who is raising her twin daughters in Himachal Pradesh alongside her husband Abhinav Shukla, revealed that they are intentionally avoiding giving their children phones, tablets, chocolates, chips, and other junk food.
The couple prefers to stick to simple, home-cooked meals, known as "ghar ka khaana." Rubina shared that Abhinav is a non-fussy eater who happily eats whatever is prepared, and she herself also enjoys this traditional, minimally spiced fare. In fact, when friends visit, they often tease the couple for eating "like patients" due to the lack of extra salt and spices.
Rubina explained that this approach to food and nutrition is something they learned from their own upbringing. "Our parents never promoted the idea of junk food, aerated drinks, or eating a sandwich, a burger, or chips outside. We used to get a scolding if they found out that we ate outside." While the couple had complaints about this as children, they now deeply appreciate the solid foundation in healthy eating habits that their parents provided.

Rubina emphasized that this simple, home-cooked food is not only easier for the body to digest but also helps maintain weight, improve skin texture, and reduce acidity. The couple believes that by setting this example, they can pass on the value of a healthy, balanced lifestyle to their own children.
