A 1938 Austin 10 Cambridge, which had been stored in a barn for more than 30 years, has been given a remarkable transformation. The car was originally gifted in 1988 but was discovered in a dilapidated state, necessitating extensive restoration by a group of dedicated Austin enthusiasts.
Accessing the vehicle involved a significant effort, as the barn door was overgrown and difficult to open. Inside, the car was found in a poor condition, filled with detritus. Following its successful refurbishment, the vintage car is now being sold to support Farleigh Hospice, a cause close to the hearts of the restoration team.
The hospice provided crucial care to one restorer's daughter, and the sale aims to repay that kindness. Community support was vital, with donations of parts and free MoT services contributing to the car's revival. The Austin 10 is currently listed for £4,000, with its distinctive registration plate, 'FAE 66', being sold separately.
