Rescued Indian Street Dogs Thrive in Finland with Loving Owners

In a heartwarming story, a European couple has provided a forever home to two street dogs rescued from Mahabalipuram, India. The dogs, named Nila and Malai, were cared for by Susheela, a Chennai-based woman, for 1.5 years before being adopted by Norah and Christian in Helsinki, Finland.

The couple shared a video on Instagram introducing their furry companions, describing them as the "best babysitters for our grandchildren." They urged Indians to treat street dogs with kindness, stating that Indian dogs are quite popular in the suburbs of Helsinki. "If Indian street dogs are respected all over the world, why can't people in India learn to love them?" Susheela wrote in the caption.

Susheela, who was born and raised in Finland but now lives in India, has dedicated her life to rescuing and caring for over 50 street dogs in Mahabalipuram. Her trust, Yazhini Love & Rescue, continues to work tirelessly for the animals that most people pass by without a second glance.
