War Refugee Finds Christmas Gift Siblings After 30 Years

Dalibor Sentic, now 44, was forced to flee his home in Croatia during the Balkan wars in the early 1990s. At just 10 years old, his family relocated to Stockholm, Sweden, leaving behind everything they knew. Amidst this upheaval, Dalibor had received a Christmas gift from eight-year-old Claire and six-year-old Peter in Mold, Flintshire, Wales.

More than three decades later, Dalibor successfully located Claire and Peter using social media. He shared a picture from the gift package, which he had kept, in a local community group. Within hours, he found them, expressing his gratitude for their childhood kindness during a time of significant hardship. He recalled hearing bombs but being made to feel "loved and secure" by his parents.

Claire Powell and Peter Sanders were surprised to hear from Dalibor but acknowledged the positive power of social media. Peter emphasized how small acts of kindness can have a profound impact.
