Ranchi is set to experience considerable traffic diversions and restrictions on Friday and Saturday as the city gears up for Janmashtami festivities. The police have announced that heavy goods vehicles will be prohibited from entering the city limits from 6 am until midnight on both days, requiring them to use the Ring Road instead.
Further restrictions will impact smaller goods vehicles, auto-rickshaws, and totos on specific routes. From 3 pm until the end of the events each day, these vehicles will be barred from key areas including Albert Ekka Chowk to Sujata Chowk and Mission Chowk to Sarjana Chowk. Traffic may also be diverted or halted on other routes as needed. Authorities are urging residents to minimize the use of their four-wheelers on these two days to ease congestion.
