Queen's Relative's Dog Brutally Attacked, Saved by Heroic Strangers

On November 14th, 2025, Queen Camilla's son and food writer Tom Parker Bowles experienced a harrowing ordeal when his beloved Jack Russell, Maud, was viciously attacked by a large dog while they were walking on Kensington High Street in London.

According to Tom's account, he was carefully passing a "vast dog," possibly a Cane Corso, on a metal chain lead when the dog suddenly spotted Maud and brutally attacked her. The dog, estimated to weigh around 15 stone, overpowered Maud, who only weighs 2 stone. Tom described the desperate struggle to save his pet, rolling on the pavement and trying to free Maud from the larger dog's jaws.

Thankfully, Tom was not alone, as several kind-hearted Londoners rushed to his aid. An old man hit the attacking dog with his stick, while a woman whistled to hail a cab to rush Maud to the emergency vet. The cab drivers also played a crucial role in quickly transporting Tom and his injured pet across the city.

Maud was left seriously injured and has since been undergoing major surgery, but Tom emphasizes that his brave little dog is fighting to recover. He has used this harrowing experience to warn other dog owners about the importance of muzzling dangerous dogs, while also expressing his gratitude for the kindness and generosity of the strangers who came to his aid.
