The Princess of Wales has revealed upcoming plans to renovate the family's new residence, Forest Lodge in Windsor. She shared with German First Lady Elke Büdenbender that mood boards are being created, with renovations set to begin after the Christmas holidays. This update comes as the Wales family, including Prince William and their three children, settled into the eight-bedroom Georgian mansion in October. Prince William humorously described the recent house move as having "twists" but assured it is being managed.
The move to Forest Lodge, announced in August, is intended to be the permanent family home. The couple secured a 20-year lease on the property from the Crown Estate and privately funded the move and initial minor renovations, agreeing to pay market rent. The expansive lodge offers ample space for the growing family and provides a larger canvas for Kate's interior design aspirations, which have previously transformed other royal residences.
Forest Lodge is reportedly being outfitted with impressive features, including a dining table capable of seating 24 guests, suggesting a focus on family gatherings. Princess Kate has already visited local craftsmen, such as Marina Mills, known for supplying furnishings to royal residences, hinting at the sophisticated style anticipated for their new home. The family is continuing to settle into this significant new chapter.
