Princess Beatrice Sets Marathon Record in Tutu!

Princess Beatrice made headlines in 2010 by completing the London Marathon in a unique way. She joined 33 other runners to form a human caterpillar, a group effort that broke a record for the most people to complete a marathon bound together. Beatrice sported a fluorescent tutu and beamed with her medal after crossing the finish line, raising funds for her mother's charity, Children in Crisis.

Years later, in 2017, the Prince and Princess of Wales appeared at the marathon. They supported the 'Heads Together' mental health charity by cheering competitors and handing out water, though they were unexpectedly sprayed by some runners. While Kate Middleton has expressed interest in running, security concerns have reportedly prevented her from participating. Sophie, Duchess of Edinburgh, also participated in a 1.5-mile segment of the 2020 marathon under socially distanced conditions to support the Mencap charity.
