Over seven decades after teaching her to ride, Princess Anne has reconnected with Barbara Rosen, a former groom from Windsor Castle. Rosen, aged 94, recalled instructing a young Princess Anne and King Charles in riding during the 1950s.
The heartwarming reunion occurred when the Princess Royal visited The Nicky day centre in Crumpsall, Manchester, an event marking the 75th anniversary of Manchester Jewish Community Care.
During their chat, Princess Anne and Rosen reminisced about their time at Windsor, looking through old photographs and discussing three-day eventing. Rosen, who was the first female groom at Windsor, travelled with the Royal Family and their ponies to various estates.
David Delew, chief executive of the charity, described the meeting as a highlight of the Royal visit, noting Princess Anne's extended time in the reminiscence room. The Princess also met centre members, staff, and volunteers, and unveiled a commemorative plaque during her visit.
