Prayagraj's cherished Panchkoshi Parikrama has begun, marking the revival of an ancient tradition. This five-day pilgrimage, which was halted 556 years ago by Mughal ruler Akbar, was reinstated in 2019 through the efforts of the Yogi Adityanath government.
The parikrama commenced with Ganga puja at the Sangam, led by prominent saints and seers from various akhara groups. The tradition is deeply rooted in the regional expanse of Prayagraj, encompassing numerous pilgrimage sites, ashrams, and temples spread across its three inter-riverine areas.
The pilgrimage will conclude on the fifth day with a community feast for the participants. The Magh Mela administration is overseeing the event, ensuring smooth traffic management for the devotees undertaking this significant spiritual journey.
