Last month, on September 30, 2025, King Charles III welcomed an unusual guest to Clarence House for a special party. The monarch hosted a reception in the garden of his London residence to mark £50 million from his Duchy Originals sales that have benefitted more than 1,000 good causes over the past 35 years.
During the event, the King met a pedigree Sussex cow named 'Poppy' from a Duchy farm, who had received a special invitation. Much to the delight of the guests, the cow proceeded to knock over a small table and stomp into a low hedge, causing the King to remark, "Don't push her back into my boxed hedge." Moments later, Poppy even urinated on the pathway, much to the embarrassment of her handler.
Despite the cow's antics, the King remained relaxed and amused, thanking the young farmer for his work. The reception also celebrated the £50 million raised from Duchy Originals sales that has been donated to the King Charles III Charitable Fund and shared with over 1,000 charities since the brand's partnership with Waitrose in 2009.
