- The charity's initiative doubles its capacity for women needing support.
- 51 women were identified sleeping rough in Oxfordshire in 2025.

A new women-only residence in Oxford, established by Homeless Oxfordshire, offers a vital sanctuary for women transitioning out of homelessness. The eight-bedroom house provides comprehensive services designed to support residents in their recovery and foster independence, paving the way for long-term housing solutions.
One of the first residents, who wished to remain anonymous, described the house as "immense" and a significant improvement from her past experiences, which included sleeping in doorways and abandoned buildings. She highlighted the critical role of community support, stating the charity staff have become like family.
The initiative doubles Homeless Oxfordshire's capacity for women-only services. The charity's women's services team leader emphasized the importance of emotional security and dignity for women who have faced significant trauma and instability. This project is part of a wider effort to address homelessness in the region.
Research conducted in 2025 by the Oxfordshire Homeless Movement (OHM) identified 51 women sleeping rough in the county. OHM noted the complexity of the issues faced by homeless women and the need for a collaborative approach involving various support partners to address their multifaceted needs.
