Hypnotherapy Reveals Hidden Train Crash Fear

For ten years, an individual lived with profound fear and claustrophobia, leading to severe panic attacks, including an attempt to exit a moving tube carriage. This debilitating anxiety, particularly on public transport, began after moving to London in the late 1980s. The condition escalated, culminating in a distressing incident in July 2003.

Referred to a hypnotherapist in 2004, regression therapy sessions gradually uncovered the source of the fear. Despite initial denials, the therapist's persistent questioning led to a conversation with parents. They revealed a childhood incident: a train crash in September 1965.

At four years old, the individual was involved in a collision on a train journey from Holyhead to London. Although physically unharmed, the trauma of being trapped in the aftermath, with injured passengers around, was suppressed. The parents' subsequent attempts to discuss the event were met with distress, leading them to avoid the topic.

This revelation provided clarity, explaining the subconscious connection to feeling trapped. With this understanding, the individual worked with the hypnotherapist to develop coping mechanisms. By 2006, this healing allowed for a challenging cable car ride in Vancouver, a significant personal triumph.

The resolution of this long-standing fear enabled a more fulfilling life. This became particularly meaningful with the birth of the individual's daughter six years later. Now 14, they share a passion for music, often traveling together on London's public transport, moments made possible by overcoming past trauma.
