On October 9, 2025, an NYPD officer named Frank Squillante responded to multiple 911 calls about a kitten trapped under a food truck in Midtown, New York. Upon arriving at the scene, Squillante and his fellow officers worked quickly to retrieve the frightened feline from under the active vehicle.
Fortunately, the kitten was unharmed. Squillante, who was driving the police car, was then handed the small cat, with one of the officers remarking, "Look who found you. This cute guy. This cute guy found you, beautiful. You're so pretty, it's okay, you're safe."
Squillante was touched by the encounter and decided to take the kitten home, saying, "Everyone was pretty much telling me that the cat finds you, you don't find the cat. It was a sign that we are meant to be connected together." The heartwarming rescue and adoption were captured on the officer's bodycam and shared by the NYPD on their social media.
