Nurse Honored with Dream Holiday for Christmas Work

Sarah Alcock, a dedicated nurse from Derby, was overjoyed to learn her husband nominated her for a holiday, a reward for her consistent sacrifice of Christmas Day shifts. Alcock works at Queen's Medical Centre in Nottingham, a place significant as her own baby was born there prematurely this year at just 25 weeks, weighing 1lb 12oz. Despite personal joys, the mounting staffing pressures mean she has once again volunteered to work this Christmas.

Her husband, Dave, initiated the nomination to acknowledge her unwavering commitment, calling her a "hero." Similar gestures were extended to NHS nurse Nicky Starkowitz and care home manager Niccii Gillett, who also work tirelessly through the holidays.
