Los Angeles diners can now secure a reservation for an exclusive dining experience from Tokyo's highly acclaimed Tonkatsu Narikura. The restaurant, famous for its nearly impossible-to-obtain reservations, is participating in a special pop-up event in Los Angeles for two nights this month. Chef Seizo Mitani will travel from Japan to collaborate with Brothers Sushi chef-owner Mark Okuda.
The collaboration will feature Narikura's signature "blonde" tonkatsu, a dish renowned for its delicate, lightly golden crust achieved through a slow-cooking method. Chef Mitani is bringing his signature breadcrumbs from Japan, and premium pork from Peads & Barnetts will be used. This exclusive six-course meal, including rice, soup, and dessert, is priced at $150.
Reservations for this rare culinary event are available through Tock for the Culver City location on Sunday, July 19, and the Santa Monica location on Monday, July 20. This pop-up offers Angelenos a unique chance to enjoy one of the world's most sought-after tonkatsu dishes without the extensive travel and booking struggles typically associated with Narikura.
