14 Jan
Summary

- The harmless corn snake was missing for six weeks.
- The snake was safely returned to its ecstatic owners.

A Merseyside mother's initial suspicion of a prank turned into a nightmare when she discovered a snake near her home. Charley Harrison of St Helens initially believed her partner had staged the snake's appearance but was horrified when it moved.
The baby Amel corn snake, identified as harmless, was safely transported to Jaysco, a small animal sanctuary. The snake, named Slytherin, had been missing for six weeks, causing great distress to its owners, especially during the recent cold weather. Fortunately, Slytherin was reunited with its ecstatic owners shortly after being found.
Animal welfare organizations remind pet owners to ensure enclosures are secure, as corn snakes are known escape artists. The RSPCA advises that proper enclosure security is crucial to prevent pets from escaping, especially given their tendency to exploit any available gap.
