Juhu Horror: Late-Night Construction Disturbs Mumbai Residents

Television personality Urvashi Dholakia has voiced strong opposition to late-night construction work in Mumbai's Juhu neighborhood, labeling it a "midnight horror" for local residents. The actress shared an open letter on social media detailing the significant disturbance caused by construction activities that allegedly continue well past permissible hours.

The continuous noise from machinery and drilling has made it difficult for residents, including families with children and the elderly, to rest and maintain their well-being. Dholakia emphasized that these construction activities, reportedly occurring at a property associated with producer Asit Kumar Modi, appear to disregard established civic norms and local regulations for residential zones.

Expressing frustration with official response, Dholakia stated she made multiple calls to the police emergency number between 4:23 AM and 4:55 AM, but no officers arrived. She waited until 5:08 AM, highlighting what she described as a flawed and appalling system. She urged authorities and builders to adhere strictly to construction timings and minimize noise pollution to respect residents' right to peace.

Dholakia warned that if the issue persists, residents may resort to formal complaints with municipal and environmental authorities. The situation underscores a growing concern over disruptions in residential areas and the effectiveness of civic emergency services in addressing such disturbances promptly.
