The Montgomery County Fair is officially commencing on Tuesday, July 15, and will continue through Sunday, July 19. Preparations are in full swing at the fairgrounds, with 4-H members actively getting ready for the event.
Young participants, including Lona Newton, 9, are preparing their animals, such as goats Dennis and Delaney, for judging. Hunter Foss from Germantown is aiming for top honors in the Goat Showman to Showman and Overall Showman competitions.
Beyond the animal exhibits, the fairgrounds are bustling with activity. Rides are being erected, food trucks and vendors are strategically placed, and volunteers are finalizing arrangements. Fair Board President Tim Colston advised attendees to use sunscreen due to warm weather, noting that Building One, housing exhibits, is air-conditioned. Shaded tents and a misting station will also provide relief.
The fair offers various attractions including animal showcases, rides, and food. Attendees can find respite from the heat in air-conditioned buildings or shaded outdoor areas, ensuring a comfortable experience for all.
