Miss England ditches makeup for natural beauty pageant

For the first time in its 98-year history, the Miss England pageant will feature a grand final catwalk where all 38 finalists will appear completely makeup-free. This significant change is part of the competition's Bare Face Top Model round, introduced in 2019 to foster confidence and challenge societal beauty pressures.

Organizer Angie Beasley stated the move is a bold celebration of confidence and authenticity, aiming to show the competition's challenge to modern beauty standards. While the round has been optional and sometimes controversial, this year it is a mandatory element for all finalists before the main event.

The Miss England final is set to take place at Athena in Leicester on November 17. The winner will subsequently represent England at the Miss World 2027 competition in Tanzania. The event is sponsored by The One Clinic, supporting the celebration of natural beauty.
