- He has since recovered and is now a beloved resident at Penny Farm.
- Pickle's small size requires a custom-made 'super mini' head collar.

A tiny foal, affectionately named Pickle, has made a remarkable recovery after being found critically ill and struggling to breathe. He was unable to stand and suffering from multiple infections, including strangles, equine flu, and salmonella, at the time of his discovery last year.
Nursed back to health by dedicated staff at World Horse Welfare, Pickle defied the odds, with veterinary staff noting the severity and frequency of his salmonella infections. His condition significantly improved, allowing him to be transferred to Penny Farm Rescue and Rehoming Centre in Blackpool.
Upon arrival, Pickle, who is only seven hands high (28 inches) at a year old, immediately began winning hearts. His endearing nature and petite stature, necessitating a special 'super mini' head collar, have made him a favourite among visitors and the other horses and ponies. He is currently enjoying his youth and playing with friends, with plans for his eventual rehoming still some way off.
