Mel C's relationship with Dingwall began serendipitously on a celebrity dating app. She has shared that she downloaded the app as a joke, never expecting to find love, but soon after met Chris.

Speaking about her partner, Mel C has described him as a "real gentle soul" and "uber supportive." She revealed in January that he is the first partner she has seriously considered marrying.
