Rory McIlroy and CBS Sports reporter Amanda Balionis recently shared a memorable moment at The Masters, exchanging laughter over a lighthearted comment attributed to golf legend Jack Nicklaus. Balionis inquired about Nicklaus's advice to McIlroy before his opening round, to which the golfer humorously replied, "No f***ing double bogeys." This interaction quickly brought to mind rumors that circulated two years prior, shortly after McIlroy filed for divorce from his wife, Erica Stoll. Those rumors intensified after a previous light-hearted interview between Balionis and McIlroy following the 2024 Wells Fargo Championship.

At the time of the initial speculation, Balionis was married to former football player Bryn Renner. They have since divorced. McIlroy, meanwhile, withdrew his divorce petition in June 2024 and remains married to Stoll. A source indicated that Stoll felt "lonely in their marriage" leading up to their temporary separation, with the couple sharing a daughter, Poppy. Despite these claims, McIlroy's wife and daughter were publicly present, caddying for him at the annual Par 3 Contest the day before the 2026 Masters began.
