Matsya, the esteemed design house led by Utkarsh Ahuja, has officially opened its first flagship store in Mumbai's vibrant Kala Ghoda district. This significant launch signifies the brand's dedicated presence in India's fashion capital, offering an exclusive destination for its haute couture collections. The store's design meticulously blends Ahuja's personal aesthetic with the brand's signature fireplaces and chandeliers, creating an immersive atmosphere.
The two-story boutique draws inspiration from vintage palace grandeur, featuring molded walls, antique accents, and hand-painted ceilings. Retaining the building's original character, the interiors are enhanced with faded blue walls, ornate pillars, and gold detailing. Bespoke carpets guide visitors to spacious trial lounges, designed as intimate spaces for a personalized couture discovery.
Founder Utkarsh Ahuja expressed his excitement about this milestone, stating, "Opening our doors in Mumbai marks a significant milestone for Matsya." The latest couture collection embodies Matsya's commitment to evolving craftsmanship while staying true to its visual identity. This collection emphasizes timeless design and enduring quality, resulting in elevated yet distinctive pieces.
The store opening was attended by notable figures, including celebrity Mira Kapoor, who has a prior association with the brand. Kapoor shared her enthusiasm, noting the space's alignment with Matsya's aesthetic. Other guests included Marc Robinson, Nishka Lulla, and Maneka Thadani, among others, celebrating this new chapter for Matsya in Mumbai.
