- Aircraft to be buried 14 feet deep, connecting to existing bunker.
- The project aims for a functional nuclear fallout shelter.

Dave Billings, a 44-year-old from Derbyshire, is undertaking an extraordinary landscaping project by burying a Boeing 737 in his garden. He purchased the aircraft for £4,000 with the intention of converting it into an underground bunker.
The ambitious plan involves burying the plane 14 feet deep and integrating it with his existing bunker system. The unique entrance will be through the original plane door, offering a dramatic descent into the subterranean space.
Billings intends to retain some original features, such as a working aircraft toilet and galley-style ovens. However, other areas will be transformed with exposed aircraft ribs painted military green, creating an industrial aesthetic.
The project, funded through social media revenue, is estimated to cost around £25,000. Beyond its recreational aspect, Billings aims for the bunker to serve as a functional nuclear fallout shelter, equipped with essential facilities for survival.
