Beloved Lion Azizi Euthanized at Magnetic Hill Zoo

Magnetic Hill Zoo has euthanized Azizi, an 18-year-old male lion, due to severe health issues stemming from aging. Zoo director Selina Cowman confirmed that Azizi suffered from arthritis and scoliosis, conditions that worsened with time despite special care. Visitors who frequented the zoo over the years shared fond memories of the beloved big cat, often describing him as lazy but known for his loud roars and playful antics. Azizi was particularly remembered for his surprising urine-spraying encounters, a prank that brought laughter to many, including long-time visitors who had witnessed it multiple times.
