Supermodel to Supermom: Madhu Sapre's Candid Journey

Madhu Sapre, a former national athlete and Miss India 1992 winner, has transitioned from a successful modeling career to dedicated motherhood. She views raising a child as a far more demanding role than gracing international runways, emphasizing the profound responsibility involved.

Following her marriage, Sapre relocated to Italy. Her life there was initially fast-paced, involving continued modeling and extensive travel. She eventually took a break from her career in 2010 to focus on starting a family, successfully conceiving and giving birth to her daughter, Indira, in May 2012.

Sapre's life took a difficult turn with the passing of her father before Indira's first birthday and subsequent marital issues leading to a divorce. Further tragedy struck with the loss of her brother. Despite these profound setbacks, Sapre remained resilient, prioritizing providing a stable home for Indira.

She describes herself as a hands-on mother, cooking meals and accompanying her daughter to activities. Sapre has consciously accepted the physical changes in her body post-pregnancy, focusing on health and her ability to care for Indira. She advocates for nurturing children with a supportive environment and unconditional love.

Sapre is raising Indira with simplicity, balancing academics and her daughter's pursuit of artistic gymnastics. She and her ex-husband maintain a cordial co-parenting relationship for Indira's benefit, ensuring she feels loved by both parents. Indira also has a positive relationship with her father's new family.

Sapre values instilling simplicity, honesty, kindness, and humility in Indira, mirroring the values she was raised with. Despite her daughter's initial reluctance, Sapre hopes to teach her Marathi, connecting her to her Indian roots.
