Navratri: VIPs Barred From Sanctum at Maa Baglamukhi Temple
10 Oct
Summary
- No VIPs allowed in the sanctum during Navratri at Maa Baglamukhi Temple.
- Devotees will view the deity from a single spot to manage crowds.
- The temple is prepared for large gatherings with 201 havan kundas.
The Maa Baglamukhi Temple Management Committee at Nalkheda, located in Agar-Malwa, has announced a significant change for the upcoming Navratri festival. For the nine days of the celebration, access to the sanctum sanctorum will be restricted for all individuals, including VIPs. This decision means that VIP darshan and puja arrangements within the inner sanctum will be suspended throughout the festival period.
To manage the expected influx of devotees from across the country, the committee has organized four separate queues for VIPs, women, men, and persons with disabilities. All devotees will have the opportunity to see the deity from a single viewing point, with the aim of completing darshan for each person within 30 minutes under normal circumstances.
Preparations are in full swing to accommodate a large number of visitors. The temple has arranged for havan ceremonies at 201 kundas, with arrangements made for prior bookings. To facilitate more devotees performing havan simultaneously and to minimize wait times, new kundas have been constructed this year.
Additional facilities to support the devotees include designated parking areas, with overflow directed to nearby locations. Essential amenities such as drinking water and shade will be provided along the queue routes. A medical team will be present to assist devotees with health concerns, and a police outpost will operate within the temple premises to bolster security from the commencement of Navratri.
