A woman from Cowes on the Isle of Wight, Abbie West-Long, has won a substantial £333,332 after matching winning Postcode Lottery numbers. This life-changing sum has significantly accelerated her and her partner Daryl Marlow's long-standing dream of moving to the Canadian Rockies.
Previously, the couple had aimed to save £10,000 for a move penciled in for 2028. However, Ms West-Long's lottery win, doubled because she played with two tickets, means they now hope to relocate in approximately six months.
The prize, equivalent to over $620,000 Canadian dollars, will facilitate their purchase of a home in British Columbia. This move represents not only a change of scenery but also the ability to provide the stability needed to start a family, a goal they've eagerly anticipated.
Ms West-Long, a childcare practitioner, expressed disbelief and immense joy, stating the win felt surreal given her usual expectation of bad news. The couple, together for 13 years, are now set to build their new life, complete with a house, land, and everything they desire.
