A Bernedoodle named Kash was joyfully reunited with his owner, Kyla Primas, after being missing for seven months. Kash initially lived a happy life in New Jersey before moving to Baltimore with Primas in late 2025. The new urban environment, filled with sirens and noise, made Kash skittish. In January 2026, Kash ran out of the house while Primas's partner, Morgan Hall, was taking out the trash.
Extensive searches by Primas and Hall, including posters and calls to work, yielded no results, especially after a major snowstorm hit. Primas held onto hope, praying Kash had found safety. In late August 2026, a post on a Patterson Park neighborhood Facebook group about a spotted dog with a collar reignited hope. Primas recognized the description and rushed to the location, though Kash had already moved on.
With renewed determination, Primas created new posters featuring a more recent photo of a shaggier Kash. The community actively shared sightings across social media and via doorbell cameras. On Labor Day, Ron Lee Ward and Kat Bailey spotted Kash in Patterson Park. Recognizing him from posters, they patiently lured him using their own dogs into a dog park, finally securing him with a leash around 3 a.m. They provided Kash with food, water, and began to trim his matted fur before contacting Primas.
Upon seeing Primas, Kash transformed from a scared, shy dog into his playful self. Ward and Bailey, inspired by their own past experience of a lost pet, refused any reward, choosing instead to pay forward the kindness they had received. A vet visit confirmed Kash was in good health, aside from fleas and being underweight, and he later received a grooming to remove his matted coat.
