Lewis Hamilton achieved a substantial profit on a New York City penthouse without ever residing in it. He acquired Penthouse H at 443 Greenwich Street in Tribeca for $43,991,455 in 2017.
The expansive 8,908-square-foot triplex, featuring six bedrooms and extensive outdoor space, was initially listed for $57 million in 2019. After several years on and off the market, the property eventually entered into a contract for $49.5 million in October 2021.
This sale resulted in a gain of approximately $5.51 million for Hamilton, excluding associated costs. His decision to use the property as an investment was influenced by his purchase of another Tribeca home at 70 Vestry Street for about $40.7 million in the same year, 2019.
The 443 Greenwich Street building itself is renowned for its privacy features, including an underground motor court, attracting other high-profile residents like Justin Timberlake and Jennifer Lawrence.
