A six-year-old Labrador named Gideon was given only a few months to live after a devastating diagnosis of aggressive oral cancer. His owner, Hayley Glatfelter, faced the heartbreaking news but sought further treatment options for her beloved pet.
An oncologist suggested a life-saving surgery, though it was costly. With the help of a GoFundMe and a grant from DogsLife, Gideon underwent an extensive five-hour operation on October 23, 2025, to remove his nose and reconstruct his upper lip.
Remarkably, Gideon has made a full recovery and experiences no limitations, continuing to enjoy playing and swimming. His owner is immensely grateful to the veterinary team and supporters who enabled Gideon to live a full and happy life.
