Restaurants across Kolkata have introduced extended operating hours for the Christmas and New Year festivities, with many staying open beyond midnight on select days. Iconic establishments like Mocambo and Peter Cat on Park Street have already begun offering late-night service, planning to serve food until at least 2 AM. This adjustment reflects an early surge in customer demand, with owners anticipating a busier festive season than in recent years.
Several other popular venues are also extending their hours to accommodate the holiday rush. Oasis plans to remain open until 2 AM on key dates, while Chapter 2 in south Kolkata will operate with extended bar and food service hours until 2 AM, featuring special musical programs. Newly opened Chaudhury & Co. will also be part of the festive offerings with traditional Bengali cuisine.
Central Kolkata's Songhai and Manthan, along with MS Bar & Lounge, will extend their hours to 2 AM on December 24 and 31. Similarly, Bar-B-Q and One Step Up on Park Street will stay open until 1 AM on these dates. The decision to extend hours is driven by a noticeable increase in crowds and the festive spirit gripping the city.
