Thousands of devotees are converging on Temblai hill to witness a cherished Navaratra ritual: Goddess Mahalaxmi's palanquin journey for Lalit Panchami. This annual event celebrates the symbolic meeting of Goddess Mahalaxmi with her sister, Goddess Temblai, culminating in the Kohala pujan ceremony.
To accommodate the expected large crowds, extensive traffic diversions are in effect around Temblai hill from early morning. Public transportation services have been rerouted, and special parking is arranged for two-wheelers. Road repairs, enhanced lighting, barricades, and crowd-control measures are in place.
Authorities have finalized preparations for the yatra, installing an LED screen for devotees to view the ceremonies. Special arrangements are being made around the Kohala pujan ritual to ensure a safe experience for all attendees, particularly after the 'kohala' breaking ceremony.
The day's rituals will begin with the Mahaabhishek and worship of Goddess Temblai at midnight, followed by the traditional Kohala Pujan between noon and 1 pm.
