Stowaway Kitten Found After Road Trip to Georgia

A kitten has been rescued after an incredible journey, having been discovered wedged beneath a car after traveling hundreds of miles. The approximately 10-week-old feline, now named Jersey, was found by University of Georgia student Jadyn Sawyer upon her arrival on campus from New Jersey.

University police were alerted and contacted a local animal rescue organization. Volunteers found Jersey in a precarious position, initially fearing the worst, but were relieved when the kitten responded. Mechanics at a nearby service center ultimately removed a tire from the vehicle to successfully extricate the young cat.

Jersey, though hot and panting, was found to be healthy after a veterinary examination, with only a minor respiratory infection and intestinal parasite. He has since warmed up to people and is described as talkative and playful. Plans are in motion for Jersey to be adopted by Sawyer's sister and fiancé in New Jersey, ensuring his safe return to the Garden State.
