Kinnar Saints Seek Divine Blessings at Sangam

On the auspicious occasion of Basant Panchami, seers and saints belonging to the Kinnar Akhara, accompanied by their disciples, participated in a sacred dip at the Sangam. Mahamandaleshwar Swami Kalyani Nand Giri, also referred to as Chhoti Maa, led the prayers to Maa Ganga, Yamuna, and the invisible Saraswati, invoking blessings for the well-being of all devotees.

Giri highlighted Basant Panchami as a day dedicated to the worship of Goddess Saraswati, the bestower of knowledge and wisdom. She also voiced concerns regarding the need for improved arrangements during the bathing festival, citing a 5km walk to Sangam due to traffic restrictions. She urged devotees to adhere to administrative guidelines for a smoother experience.

Currently, over 200 Kinnar saints from across India are engaged in Kalpavas, a ritualistic period of religious austerity, at the ongoing Magh Mela. Their camp is abuzz with various cultural and religious activities. The saints are expected to conclude their spiritual observance following the Mahashivratri bath.
