Princess Kate began her year with a solo engagement in the North of England, focusing on mental health and community support. Her day started in Bradford, West Yorkshire, where she visited a Family Action charity. Here, she learned about their Children's Trauma Therapy service and participated in creative exercises designed to help young individuals process trauma.
The Princess of Wales then traveled to Wakefield, approximately 20 miles away, to support projects aligned with her patronage of the Rugby Football League. She met with elderly participants of the 'In Touch' program, which aims to reduce social isolation. Kate also engaged with young rugby players during a skills session and interacted with those in the Inspiring Futures program, which targets at-risk youth.
