On October 10th, 2025, a pottery workshop was organized in Bhadras village, Kanpur, following the district magistrate's directives. During the workshop, 41 eligible pottery artisans were verified and allocated sites for clay extraction. The artisans showcased their handmade products, including lamps, pots, Lakshmi-Ganesh idols, decorative vessels, household items, and other artifacts. Refreshments were served in clay vessels as an encouragement.
Meanwhile, a long-pending land dispute concerning an ancient Shiva temple in the Tenapur hamlet of village Patara was also resolved. The SDM Ghatampur, along with the ACP, revenue, and police teams, reached the site and, after hearing both parties, resolved the dispute with the villagers' consent. The temple's structure and materials indicate that it is part of the heritage, and a proposal for its conservation and beautification is being sent to the tourism and archaeology department.
The officials informed the artisans that after registration, they would receive training to integrate this traditional art with modern technology. The government's intention is to create employment at the local level by promoting this micro-industry, which will also help preserve traditional culture and heritage while being environmentally friendly and beneficial for health.
